I used to work with a woman who had bare naked windows. She lived out in the woods, with no neighbors in sight, and she loved having no window coverings at all. She showed me pictures of the different rooms, she was very proud of the fact that her windows were bare. Although she DID have some hanging plants in front of the windows and some shelves with plants in front of some windows, for the most part I thought that the windows looked too sterile; I feel that curtains add a lot of personality and warmth to a room.  I also feel that insulated curtains are a good idea to help save energy and reduce heating and cooling costs.  I’m always all about saving energy and heating and cooling costs!

When my hubby and I were talking about moving here from New England, we discussed what kind of television service we were going to get once we arrived.  We were very interested in getting some form of Satellite TV, because it has so many channels.  Shortly before we moved down here, I got an email from my brother, telling me that he thought we should get DirecTV, and he sent us the link on where to go to sign up. 

A few days later I got an email from my sister, telling me that she has DirectTV and loves it, and if I sign up for it too, would I please tell them that she referred me so that she could get some kind of credit?  I think it was a $25 credit for referrals, but I can’t remember off the top of my head.  I tried to get some kind of bundle where I would get my telephone, internet and Direct TV all rolled into one package deal, but the Internet part of the package deal was not available in the area that I was moving to.

When we finally DID move down here, my hubby splurged on a wide screen television.  I had a fit when I found out he bought it because it cost so much money, but I have to admit that I DO like the large screen, especially when we watch movies on it!

Today as I was driving home from work, it looked like it was snowing!  Upon closer examination I realized that it wasn’t snow at all, it was a blizzard of fluffy dandelion seeds!  It was amazing to see.  I’m glad I wasn’t near my house at the time, the thought of having to deal with those millions of dandelions would have been very upsetting!

My hubby just couldn’t take it anymore.  Saturday he felt pretty good, so he spent almost all day out in the yard.  He mowed the lawn and planted trees and weeded the flower beds.  He was sore on Sunday from all of the work, and even more sore on Monday!  He was very upset how sore he was!  I kept telling him to take it slowly on Saturday, but he wouldn’t listen to me, and so he was sore!  Oh well…. maybe one day he’ll listen to me, but I doubt it!

My hubby loves Harley Davidson motorcycles.  He has started collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia, and he has tried to let it take over the whole house.

Well, I can’t let every room in the house turn into a Harley Davidson shrine, now can I? 

Eventually he will build himself a game room in the unfinished basement, and he can fill it with all of his collectibles, but that is a year or so into the future.  So I have decided to let our master bedroom become the display room for his Harley shrine.  That means that I am going to have to replace the bedspread and curtains, they are not very “girly” but they are certainly not very “biker” either.  I am planning to make the curtains and bedspread out of denim.
