Doing a refinance

by Mary Anne

Judy was telling me that she is trying to get a mortgage rate adjustment on her house because she thinks that she qualifies for the government program that helps homeowners refinance their houses to reduce their monthly payment. The problem that she is having, though, is that the company wants her to have an accountant raleigh nc provide a certified audit regarding her home business’s annual income. The cost of having the audit is over $400, and her business is so small that she only made about $2000 last year! Don’t you think that is an outrageous demand? I certainly do!

I like to skate

by Mary Anne

I am not big into exercise, but I have always enjoyed skating.  Whether it is roller skating, ice skating, or roller blading, that is something that I’ve always enjoyed.

A few years ago I actually took a few lessons in figure ice skating, and I thought I did pretty good!  I only took a few lessons because money was short at the time (actually it still is!)

I’d like to take lessons again in the future, I had a lot of fun learning how to figure skate!

Good to know

by Mary Anne

One of the things that seems to be effecting everyone I know is how this challenging economy is ruining their credit ratings. Many people are defaulting on loans and credit cards because they have lost their jobs, or had to take pay cuts. Fortunately there is a plethora of useful information online about how to rebuild your credit fast to minimize the consequences of bad credit. In addition to the free information about how to rebuild credit fast there are a lot of businesses available who provide credit repair services available to the consumer.

Figuring out which is the best credit repair service can be problematic, however. I think that if I felt the need to get professional help with that situation I would probably go to my local bank and talk with my friend Katie to ask her where to start. She’s been my personal banker for the past two years and I have confidence that she would steer me in the right direction.

A sense of humor

by Mary Anne

I’ve always enjoyed giving my kids funny tee shirts as gifts. Some of my favorites are souvenirs from places we’ve gone on vacation, such as the “Cool as a Moose” store up in Bar Harbor, and some are from Orlando Florida. Still others are from catalogs that I get in the mail. I like the fact that they enjoy them as much as I do. There are times, however, that I wish that they would wear a polo shirt when we go out to eat dinner. I’m glad that they have a great sense of humor, but sometimes I want us to act a little bit more “grown-up.”

What’s for dinner?

by Mary Anne

I’m cooking a wonderful pork roast in the crock pot for supper tonight.  It is being seasoned with cranberry juice cocktail, craisins, and chicken broth.  I’ll be serving it with green beans, rice pilaf and freshly baked dinner rolls.

Yummy!
