I am glad to say that my hubby returned to work yesterday, after having been out injured from a car accident last October. He came home very sore and very tired, but he did go back to work again this morning, so I am hopeful that he will not come home and say it is too much for him that he can’t work at all. Our finances really could use the money from him working again! Surviving without his income has been very difficult.
Gas prices continue to increase
by Mary AnneIt’s getting to the point where I can’t afford to drive anywhere anymore except to the bare necissities! I even make my entire family carpool for errands, whether they want to or not. The gas prices just keep going up! I think they’ll come down eventually, but I hope that they come down quickly enough and low enough to help the consumers that are struggling so hard. If they don’t come down soon, I think there will be a really poor Christmas season for the retailers!
Getting paid to job hunt?????
by Mary AnneI’ve been told that I am going to be laid off soon, so I am going to be job hunting right off. I don’t know when my last day of work is going to be, but I am polishing my resume and I am going to be posting it on a new Internet employment service that I discovered called Applicant Tree.
This is a really exciting new way to job hunt – I will be posting my resume with them. Applicant Tree works as a recruiting service for a lot of large companies. (Some of them are UPS, State Farm Insurance, and Home Depot.) Every time one of their client companies requests my contact information, Applicant Tree will pay me money! So I’ll be getting paid for looking for work! If Applicant Tree accepts my resume, the minimum I would get paid when a company requests my contact information be $7.50, the maximum would be $50.
Male menopause
by Mary AnneMy sister was telling me that her hubby is going through male menopause. She said that with her going through female menopause at the same time, they are quite the pair! She said they both have night sweats so bad that they have to change the bed sheets twice a night!
She told me that the symptoms of male menopause are the same as female menopause; crankiness, hot flashes, night sweats. She explained to me that what that means is that his body is no longer producing as much testosterone as it needs for him to stay healthy.
