After I paid off my debts, I would love to pay off all of the debts of my parents, brothers and sisters. It is hard to see all of us struggle so hard to make ends meet. I am working two jobs and don’t get the chance to get much rest, or have much fun. It sure would be nice if some money came our way!
Pets back from the vet
by Mary AnneWell, both the dog and cat survived their ordeals at the vet. We were surprised how much of the cat got shaved to remove his tumor; the vet said that they were surprised how big the tumor actually was when they opened him up, it was much much larger than they expected.
And our little dog survived just fine. I was a little bit nervous that he might have a heart condition that would complicate surgery, but they said he had no problems at all.
So the pets are back, and the first day they were here they were a little bit quieter than normal, but extra lovey. Now they are back to their regular selves. It’s good to have them home again.
World traveler
by Mary AnneOne of my older brothers is a world traveler. He has a very high paying job and lots of vacation time, no wife and kids to support, so he jet-sets around the world. He emailed me that his next destination is Vietnam. He had a lot of friends who were drafted and went to the Vietnam war, and he figures that it is time that he went there to see for himself what the country is like now that the war is over. Vietnam has made a lot of changes and is entering the world as a tourist destination.
He plans to spend a lot of the time there in Hoi An, Vietnam. He plans to stay in one of the more luxurious Hoi An Hotels near the beach that offer a lot of services and amenities while he is checking out the museums and shopping and going to the tourist trap locations and having a lot of great suits made cheaply from the famous tailor industry that thrives there.
He tells me that in 1999 Hoi An was pronounced a World Heritage site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as a well preserved sample of a Southeast Asian trading port of the 15th to 19th centuries. Their buildings are a unique blend of foreign and local styles.
Making smoothies
by Mary AnneMy kids have become more health conscious lately and have decided that they would like to make smoothies at home. In order to do that, we need to get a good ice crusher. Several years ago I tried for several months to find a good machine to crush ice, and I bought a lot of different contraptions, some were hand cranked, some were electric. The hand cranked ones were hard to use and hold and froze my hands! The electric ones didn’t have very powerful motors and burned out pretty quickly.
My sister needs a new computer
by Mary AnneMy sister’s computer died a few weeks ago. She took it to her local computer repair store, and they told her that it just wasn’t worth fixing. This was very upsetting to her because money is tight, and she doesn’t think she can afford to buy a new computer.
I’ve suggested that she buy a computer kit for her hubby to build a computer for her. She can custom order exactly what she needs and get a great computer at a savings of hundreds of dollars compared to retail prices. All her hubby will need to build the computer for her is a screwdriver. I’m sure this will be a great solution to their problem.
