One of my sons had a writing assignment for his college class that I thought was very timely and interesting. He chose to do a paper on whether gay couples made good adoptive parents. Apparently many people oppose letting gay couples adopt because of fears that the gay couples are either pedophiles or will raise the child(ren) to be gay also. I think that people are born straight or born gay, I don’t think that parents have that kind of influence on their children. And I don’t think that gay people are necessarily pedophiles. I think that the adoption screening process would screen out pedophiles whether gay or not. I think that a gay person would make just as good a parent as a straight person would.
