My hubby just couldn’t take it anymore. Saturday he felt pretty good, so he spent almost all day out in the yard. He mowed the lawn and planted trees and weeded the flower beds. He was sore on Sunday from all of the work, and even more sore on Monday! He was very upset how sore he was! I kept telling him to take it slowly on Saturday, but he wouldn’t listen to me, and so he was sore! Oh well…. maybe one day he’ll listen to me, but I doubt it!
Why don’t people knock on a closed door?
by Mary AnneAt our office, the restrooms are the kind of room where there is only one commode, and one sink, and when you go into the room you lock the door behind you. If you don’t lock the door behind you, you could be embarrassed if someone opens the door. No privacy stall or wall of any kind. I was taught that when a door is closed, you knock on the door before you open it, and wait a moment to see if anyone answers before you open the door. Well, at our office it appears that no one else was taught that because everyone simply tries to open the door, without knocking first. I am always annoyed when I am in the restroom and I hear someone trying to turn the doorknob to come in, without knocking first. I think that is very rude! I always call out “just a minute” but I still think it is very rude!
Adoption controversy
by Mary AnneOne of my sons had a writing assignment for his college class that I thought was very timely and interesting. He chose to do a paper on whether gay couples made good adoptive parents. Apparently many people oppose letting gay couples adopt because of fears that the gay couples are either pedophiles or will raise the child(ren) to be gay also. I think that people are born straight or born gay, I don’t think that parents have that kind of influence on their children. And I don’t think that gay people are necessarily pedophiles. I think that the adoption screening process would screen out pedophiles whether gay or not. I think that a gay person would make just as good a parent as a straight person would.
