Well, the doctor finally saw me and gave me a prescription for Levaquin. That’s the only antibiotic I’ve found that will clear up my sinus infections and NOT trouble my stomach. So I am hoping to feel better by the end of the week. If he had only been willing to give them to me sooner, I’d be better by now! I’ve been Zicam and other cold remedies and they help me to feel a little bit better, but still not “well.” I haven’t been getting much sleep because the cold remedies keep me awake – even the ones that are supposed to make you drowsy! So I’m tired and cranky, thank you very much! Looking forward to feeling better soon!
Exercise Update
by Mary AnneJust checking in and letting everyone know that I have been keeping my resolution and walking every day. The weather has just now started getting yuckky. We have cold days and then warm days and then cold and rainey days and then warm days. This yo-yo weather is when everyone seems to get sick, so I am even more determined to take vitamins and make sure I exercise every day.
I did not get the flu shot last year and did OK – never got sick. So I decided to skip the flu shot again this year. To be honest, I’m not convinced the flu shot is totally good for you. Part of me has a deep suspicion that it is a lot of hype so the drug companies can make more money off a lot of us sucker consumers. I will never trust the drug companies again – they are all about the money they can make – not about helping people.
Walking Isn’t Working
by Mary AnneWell, I’ve tried walking each morning all week, and I just don’t like being out there by myself.
I thought I was going to be able to take my dog with me for the company, but there are so many other dogs in this neighborhood and some of my neighbors are unfortunately a little lax about keeping their pets contained or on a leash. We’ve had two very upsetting incidents with other dogs aggressively approaching my dog and that takes all the fun out of walking the neighborhood with him.
Caught another cold
by Mary AnneI’m sorry to say that over the festivities of the Christmas holiday season, I was exposed to so many people with colds that I came down with one myself. And of course it has progressed into a sinus infection. My doctor doesn’t want me to have antibiotics “yet” because he doesn’t think they will be needed. I don’t know what I have to do to convince these doctors down here that I will always get a sinus infection when I get a cold and always need antibiotics to clear it up. To NOT give me a prescription quickly when I catch a cold dooms me to being six for at least a month, instead of only a week. It is very annoying, to say the least!
Ringing in the New Year
by Mary AnneSorry to say that I did not stay up and ring in the New Year with festivities. I had to get to bed at a reasonable hour. But I did toast the New Year this morning with a fresh, piping hot cup of Starbucks, which is a great way to start any day and a great way to start the New Year, too.
So I hope this year will be a good one for me and for you. Stay safe, be kind, and laugh every day.
Happy New Year!
