New Year's Resolution

I have never been a big fan of making New Year’s resolutions, but this year I have been thinking seriously for a long time about the need to get more exercise and take better care of myself. It seems like I have been sick with allergies or the flu way too much and it is no fun being sick so much.

I am going to make every effort this new year to exercise three days a week for at least 20 minutes. If the weather is not too bad I will take one of the dogs with me and walk the neighborhood. When the weather is bad I will go to my office workout room and ride the stationary bike or treadmill.

I think if I post this resolution on my blog that there will be a lot more people expecting me to live up to my word. So wish me good luck and check back with me later to make sure I’m doing it!

Merry Christmas!

The past week has been crazy busy with last minute Christmas shopping. I think we got it all done and now for the wrapping marathon. Thank goodness I don’t have to ship anything – we’ll be seeing all the family in person either on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Since I cooked on Thanksgiving, my sister is taking the turn to cook on Christmas day. It will be nice to be able to relax and enjoy myself all day. Of course, I’ll cook a few things and bring them with us – but the most of the work will be on someone else this time.

Anyways, I hope Santa finds his way to your house and is very good to each of you!

It sure is cold around here

Have been warming up by the fire this week every night with a good book and my laptop close by. Have not been much in the blogging mood. This time of year has me so busy doing things around the house and for the family, I hardly have any time to be creative and blog about anything. But just wanted to keep the blog alive, so to speak, and ask you the readers what you like most about this time of year and why? I like being around family I have not seen all year and when it snows I love going sking.

Upgrading to something better

Decided to upgrade my WordPress today after seeing all the new features the new version has, such as widgets and being able to tag posts instead of having to put them into catagories.

I am up in the air about changing the theme, and it something I may do soon. Finding the perfect theme is something I may just have to create myself, since there is nothing in the WordPress theme directory that catches my eye. They are all too manly or too business-like. I want something whimsical and fun! If it’s not too hard, I might be able to make several and post mine on the directory to share.

Taking the Plunge

This is my first post on my new WordPress blog. So far so good – everything is working real well and is easy to understand.

I decided to launch a blog this year so I could have a place in cyberspace to write about whatever interests me. I was surprised at how easy it was to get the domain name registered and hosted. Then, my friend told me to use WordPress because it is the best blogging software on the planet, so I figured I would give it a try.

Anyways, here goes!
